Policy

Hi!
We're sew excited that you're interested in joining one of our Studio offerings! Our studio was born from the love of sewing and the desire to share this wonderful skill and art form with others. This love is the threads of our business and you'll feel and see that in every class you take and the instructors you have.
Overview
- Our Adult Classes are for ages 18 and over.
- Sewing Classes max at eight, Creative Arts Workshops and Holistic Workshops max at 14.
- The studio opens about 10 minutes before your scheduled start time.
- To cultivate creativity, foster group learning and interaction we are a "device free" studio. Enjoy your classes and your new sewing friends!
- When signing up for a course session you are committing to all the classes in that session. Please make all efforts to attend each class. This allows for the course to run more smoothly for everyone.
- We provide a creative and educational learning experience that is nurturing, fun and friendly. We encourage creativity, exploration, group learning and support of peers.
- Once registered for a course students will receive an informational email about 1 -2 weeks before their start date that needs reviewing and a response back. If you don't receive the email please check your spam, promotions or socials folder. It is the student’s responsibility to open and read their email from the studio. It is not the studio's responsibility if you did not see or review the email.
Cellphones
We are a ‘device free’ studio, please respect others and step out of the room if you need to take a call.
Prerequisites:
- Each of our classes has a course description followed by the prerequisites needed. Reviewing this will provide more information with helping select a class suitable for your skill level.
- Most of our sewing classes have prerequisites to ensure you’re in a class suitable to your skill level so that you enjoy your experience, gain a solid foundation and won’t feel as though you are falling behind or becoming overwhelmed.
- If you are new to sewing or it's been several years since you've sewn on a machine we would recommend our Sewing 100 Course.
- It is the student's responsibility to fully read the class description for the course they are interested in, know what they are signing up for and meet the requirements. If you are still not sure what to register for please email us at creativesewingstudio@gmail.com.
- We offer two options for those who register for a course that they don't meet the prerequisites. You can be issued a full credit that must be used within four months or be reimbursed in the manner you paid minus a 10% processing/transfer/cancellation fee.
Promotions/Gift Certificates:
- Sometimes we offer discount promotions through our website or facebook page.
- Discounts may not be combined, cannot be redeemed for cash value, are non-transferable, non-assignable and are void when expired.
- We do not honor registrations or discounts through third parties. Only registrations/promos/discounts given directly through The Creative Sewing Studio are valid.
- We do not have the ability to keep Gift Certificates on file. Use the code on your Gift Certificate to redeem the dollar amount on the second page of check out. This code cannot be added retroactively once a registration is made. Gift Certificates are non-refundable.
Studio Workroom:
- Please no food or beverages, except water, are allowed in the studio workroom.
- Please be respectful of others and do not use your phone during the lessons. If there is an emergency, please feel free to step outside the workroom to use the phone.
- Because of limited space and to prevent accidents personal belongings are not allowed in the Studio Workroom. Jackets, purses, scarves, etc. can be kept in one of the rooms adjacent to the Workroom or items can be left in your vehicle.
- We are not responsible for lost or stolen property.
Class Cancellations / Inclement Weather/ Bump Back:
Sometimes in rare circumstances due to weather, sickness, etc. course schedules may change. In cases like these an email will be sent out as late as the day of the class. It is the student's responsibility to read the email on class date adjustments. Please see below for details.
- If a course/workshop needs to be bumped up or back by one week the studio reserves the right to do so. It is the student's responsibility when registering to ensure they can attend the date adjustment if needed. The Studio is not responsible if a student cannot attend the make-up date. No credit or reimbursement will be issued for missed make-up dates.
- If a course/workshop needs to be adjusted by more than one week, students will be contacted and asked if they can attend the new dates. At time of student's confirmation to attend date changes, all registration/cancelling policies apply. Alternatively they can choose to be reimbursed via original payment, or have the credit applied to another offering or use the credit toward another offering within 1 year of being issued.
- In rare cases due to weather, illness, etc. a class during a course/workshop session may need to be cancelled and this will extend the length of the original course date by one week. Each course is allotted a make-up date that will cause the course to extend the length of the original course date by one week. It is the student's responsibility when registering to make sure that they can attend the make-up date if needed. The Studio is not responsible if a student cannot attend the make-up date. No credit or reimbursement will be issued for missed make-up dates.
- If for any reason, other than weather, The Creative Sewing Studio needs to cancel a course and payment has already been submitted students can choose to be reimbursed via original payment, use the credit toward another offering or hold a credit that is redeemable for 1 month after issue.
What Is Your Refund Policy?
- Withdrawals, cancelations or course/workshop transfers for Sewing, Art or Whole Living offerings made for any reason 16 or more days prior to the start day of your Course/Workshop will result in a Studio Credit, minus a 10% processing fee that can be used toward another offering within 5 months of being issued.
- Studio Credits cannot be combined with promotional discounts, are non-refundable, hold no cash value or be used for Gift Certificates. Credits are non-assignable without prior approval from the studio.
- No reimbursement, credit or transfers will be issued for withdrawals, cancelation or transfers made within 15 days of the class start date.
- If a promo or discount is won/given and applied toward a course/workshop it is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed toward other offerings if a student cancels/transfers out of course/workshop.
- Payment is non-refundable, creditable or transferable for classes students miss or no-shows.
- We cover a lot in our multi-week sewing sessions and each class builds upon the previous class. Because so much is covered, it is important to make all efforts to attend each class in your session and complete 'at home' work if required. If a class is missed or if 'at home work' is needed and not completed there is no guarantee you will finish the class project.
- Please let us know if you will be missing a class, in rare cases we may be able to accommodate a class make-up. Class make-ups are not guaranteed and are only sometimes an option.
- Please understand that our Policy Page Is Firm. We understand things that happen. All us instructors are humans too and have lost pets, parents, been in car accidents, had surgeries, etc. all while keeping the studio going. We truly understand that "life happens." But we ask our current and future students to understand that you are just one of many students that we have each month that may unfortunately have something not fantastic come up causing you to miss or cancel out.
- We are not a corporation; we simply do not have the resources to accommodate everyone's specific needs. We're not being insensitive but with being a small business we, like many, could not succeed if we are constantly refunding because of people's changing schedules or life happenings. Please make sure you have reviewed your schedule and understand our policies before registering for a course. By checking the box during registration it is assumed you have read our Policy Page and FAQ page and agree.
Safety / Risks / Behavior:
- The safety of our students is of utmost importance at The Creative Sewing Studio. Please do not attend any classes if you are under the influence of any substances.
- By enrolling in and attending our classes you understand that in most classes we work with machinery, sharp items like scissors and pins as well as hot items like irons. It is expected that all students respect and use all items in a cautious and safe manner. Use of these items may put students in danger. When enrolling in our classes you understand that there is a potential danger to using any of these supplies and tools. The Creative Sewing Studio is not responsible for any injury or accident that occurs while using tools and equipment during classes.
- We foster a creative, supportive, nurturing and friendly environment. We offer patience and respect and expect that in return. Poor behavior toward instructors and other students is unacceptable.
- Disruptive, rude or endangering behavior is not acceptable and instructors reserve the right to pull students from class. If a student is dismissed based on disruptive or endangering behavior a credit will not be issued.
We hope you'll find our studio to be inspirational and a safe place for creativity, expression and for you to be you!
