Our Adult Creative Arts Workshops  provide a great opportunity for those 16 and older to enjoy the studio for an afternoon, learn new skills, have fun, come with friends or meet new ones and best of all leave with a new piece of art!

We have the pleasure of working with several artists in the community as well as our own in house instructors. Our workshops are always changing and depending on the season you can find art classes like cake decorating, glass etching, painting, knitting, paper crafts, mosaics and decoupage to name a few!  To see photos of past art workshops visit us on FB HERE. 

Doors open 10 minutes before your scheduled class. Please bring your material fee in the form of cash or check to your workshop.    



Ice Dyeing:

Saturday, June 3, 2:00pm - 4:30pm & June 10, 2:00pm - 4:00pm

Do you love experimenting and learning techniques that produce exciting and unpredictable results? Then you will LOVE ice dyeing!

Ice dyeing involves fiber reactive dyes and ice to create brilliant flows and blends of colors. In this two session workshop we will learn about the supplies needed, color layering techniques, basic swirl designs, and even how to create a geode pattern with ties. We will explore the different containers and methods you can utilize to ice dye at home and discuss setting times, rinsing fabric, clean up, safety and how to upcycle using ice dye! *Students will be supplied with two separate cuts of fabric to create their designs. The fabric can then be used to create future projects, like handbags, clutches, pillows, place mats and more!

Ribbon Wreaths

Sunday, June 4th ~ 10:30am - 12:45pm 

Wouldn't you just love to make a big impact on your front door, maybe brighten up boring walls or create a lovely focal point above your fireplace!  Our Ribbon Wreaths Workshop can accomplish all of that and more!  Join us to make these amazing wreaths that are being sold online for up to $150! We’ll use supplies like Deco Mesh, burlap and ribbon to create these fun wreaths. We’ll give tips and tricks for working with the mesh and wired ribbon. Approximately 22" wreaths.

The World of Miniatures

Saturday, June 17 ~ 3pm - 5:45pm

Welcome to the teeny tiny world of miniatures! This workshop will introduce you to the world of miniatures helping you to explore the possibilities of this micro craft. You’ll learn some helpful tips & tricks to get you started and create your own fully decorated miniature cozy book corner at a 1/24 scale (yup! It’s super tiny!). Best part, you’ll learn how to customize your kit to better fit your personal style! You’ll be provided all of the tools and notions needed to create a cozy corner with wallpaper, a bookshelf, books, a fabric covered stool, three unique potted plants and more!

Introduction to Astronomy: Part 1 – Our Solar System

Does the Cosmos fascinate you? Do you often find yourself starring up at the night sky with jaw-dropping awe? Would you like to learn more about our cosmic neighborhood? Well, it’s time to hop on board the cosmic express and take a journey from our precious planet earth to our solar system and beyond! Instructor and astrophotographer Ronald Zincone will help you understand and learn about the cosmic wonders such as the planets, stars, comets, meteors, our sun and moon and so much more! Zincone has loved the night sky and astronomy since childhood and now presents this exciting celestial program in a very user-friendly, educational and humorous style.

Cost: $58  Instructor: Ronald Zincone - Ronald Zincone is an award-winning photographer located in North Kingstown, RI. He is a graduate of the New York Institute of Photography and currently a continuing education student in the Photography program at the Rhode Island School of Design. Zincone is a member of numerous organizations such as Skyscrapers, Inc., Association of Lunar and Planetary Observers and Astronomical League, to name a few. Zincone has pursued 35mm photography, astronomy and extreme weather since the 1970’s and has had his business and been teaching since 2005. Seaside Ocean Frames

Saturday, Aug. 5th 2:30pm - 4:45pm

Capture the sea in a frame!  By combining cut glass, sea glass, shells, starfish and sand you'll learn to create these stunning pieces of art. With so many of us living within an hour of the coast and having an appreciation for the ocean and summer  this is the perfect gift to yourself or for a fellow beach/ocean lover.

Woodland Trays:

Enjoy a relaxing afternoon creating whimsical worlds.  Drift away to a magical world filled with fairies, colorful mushrooms, butterflies and the most lovely flower and fauna. Mimicking water colors, these stickers are elegant and full of detail. We'll begin painting our trays and learn how to trim and overlay to create a flawless spring or fall scene. We will then apply a finish to seal all our work making the tray waterproof and ready to display on a bookshelf, use for tea or to place books upon. All supplies including two different sized trays will be provided. 


Creatively Quiet The Chaos

Leave your stress at the door as you step into an afternoon dedicated to quieting the chaos that often distracts, overwhelms and gets us stuck. This workshop will begin with a lively presentation which inspires emotional wellness, insight into the importance of self care and shares the benefits of lightness and levity in our daily lives. Then join in as we roll up our sleeves for the hands-on collage/scrapbook style portion of the workshop. Enjoy using a variety of supplies as you set up your own journal template that encourages organizing thoughts, to do lists and ever capturing daydreams. This class will be a welcoming and relaxing opportunity to recharge, giggle a little and discover how you can Creatively Quiet The Chaos in your life!


Cricut For Beginners

Are you ready to dive into the world of Cricut but don’t know where to start? This course will provide a beginners look at the Cricut cutting machine and Cricut Design Space. This course is for those who: are thinking of buying a Cricut but want to try it out before making the commitment and for those who have one but have never used it. With a full overview of the software and its various uses, we will use the knowledge to make a beginner project and leave with the skills to continue diving into the creative world a Cricut machine offers. 

Goals Of This Workshop:

  • Learn the difference between the various Cricut machines (Cricut Explorer, Cricut Explorer Air, Cricut Maker, and Cricut Joy) 
  • An understanding of the basic uses of Cricut Design Space, like uploading and creating files with the free tools Cricut has to offer us with their machine
  • Learn about the best materials for each Cricut and what they can and cannot cut
  • Learn about the common tools used in conjunction with Cricut and what to buy for supplies depending on what projects interest you
  • Understanding the basic terminology that you may see when trying to learn Cricut but do not understand

Tools Needed For This Workshop:

  • Only a Cricut Explore Air and Cricut Maker line (all versions)  will be discussed for this class, although much of the knowledge can translate to the other Cricut machines
  • Machines brought to class must be either a Cricut Explore Air or Cricut Maker computer and you must bring a computer that can run Cricut Design Space (https://help.cricut.com/hc/en-us/articles/360009556033-System-Requirements-Design-Space)
  • If you do not have a computer or Cricut to take this class, one can be rented for an additional charge (limited number available) and demo will be given if you do not own a Cricut machine! Please add this in the notes sections when registering.

Woodburing

Wood Burning, Holiday Ornaments

It’s the most wonderful time of the year...to create your very own wood burned ornaments! In this workshop you'll learn the basics of wood burning, how to prepare the wood, color and more! You'll make 2 - 3 ornaments that will look festival on a tree, wreath or gift box.  Several templates will be provided that you can choose from when learning how to transfer it to the wood.  After this workshop you'll have the skills to make your own personalized wooden decorations and gifts. 


Beginner Crochet, Creative Sewing Studio

Beginner Crochet:

In this beginner crochet workshop you will learn chain, single and double stitches and how to read a pattern.  Using stitches learned students will start to make a lovely scarf from supplies provided, which will be taken home to work on a little before their second class. Patterns, informational sheets on crochet terms, yarn types, hooks and other little tips that can help you along your crochet journey will be provided.  This two session workshop aims to provide a strong foundation and will be helpful in learning new stitches and more complex patterns.

Autumn Painted Pillows

Happy Fall Y'all! Join us for this seasonal workshop and create your very own painted pillow using templates like pumpkins, gnomes, leaves and seasonal sayings. Bring along your sewing machine as we'll stitch up our shams and those with no sewing experience can have their sham sewn for them!  All materials are covered in the $20 material fee and participants can choose between a 14 x 14 or 16 x 16 pillow in colors of yellow, burgundy, beige or light blue. Once you have the technique down you'll be able to more for every season!!!

Expressive Deco Trays

Decoupaging is the craft of decorating objects like wooden furniture, paper-mache boxes, bowls, vases and more! By using a wide variety of light weight paper,  and tissue paper students will create a decorative sewing and/or art inspired tray. Each layer is sealed with multiple coats until the “stuck on” appearance disappears and the result looks like painting or inlay work. All supplies will be provided but you're welcome to bring along additional trim, ribbon, rick rack, buttons.

WOW! It just doesn't get any better than this! Start with raw, unfinished materials add a little paint, repurposed fencing, a little hardware, some embellishments, ribbons, trim, a little creativity and......... Wahla! An adorable five piece snowman sign to bring home! Learn what paints and sanding are best for the "rustic look", best glues, how to arrange your snowmen and so much more!

Make Your Own Christmas Card ClassMixed Media Holiday Cards

Get into the Holiday Sprit during our Holiday Cards Workshop! Explore the way to use paper, sketching, stamping, watercolor, markers, ribbon and creativity to turn plan cardstock into lovely little pieces of art! Learn several techniques to make your own unique cards in array sizes, matching envelopes and gifts tags, just in time for the holidays! All supplies will be provided but you're welcome to bring additional items of your own to incorporate.

Who wants cake?? Why, everyone, almost.... Come learn the art of cake decorating while creating this sweet little penguin face! Complete with a pompom cupcake and decorated hat, this cake design is perfect for the winter season and soooo delicious! Learn tips and tricks on frosting a cake smooth, how to color frosting, change tips, set up and fill decorating bags.

All Natural Bath Bars & Lip Balms:

Join us for a relaxing and inspiring evening learning how to make homemade bath bars and lip balms! We’ll walk you through how to create soothing lavender oatmeal and energizing rosemary peppermint soaps as well as gentle lip balms using natural ingredients and essential oils.
Packaging, paper, markers and ribbons will be available to then wrap and decorate your pieces.

Don't you just love wooden signs?! Utilize seasonal stencils like flowers, ferns, butterflies, birds and seasonal quotes to create your very own! Take the skills you learn in class to make countless others for decorations or give as gifts.  We will discuss paint options, sanding, paint brush size and wood quality. Glass Etching, Creative Sewing Studio

Wine, Beer and Water Glass Etching

We love this workshop! Etched glasses are SO fun to make! They such unique gifts and make drinking any beverage even more enjoyable! Join us to create your very own etched glasses. Learn tips and tricks as well as the best supplies to use to to create your glasses. Students will also have the option to add in glass paints for extra details. Students will leave with two glasses and the skills to make more.

Glass Tile Coasters:

Show off your handcrafted coasters during a socially distanced gathering, create as a gift or just enjoy in the comfort of your own home! In this workshop you'll work with an array of beautifully colored glass tiles to create lovely glass tile coasters. Learn how to prep your backing, cover measurements, layout and the best glues to use. Students will leave with two coasters and the skills to make more.

Snowmen & Penguin Families: 

Oh my cuteness!!! These little snowmen and penguin families are so adorable you won't be able to stop expanding their families!! :) Join us for this delightful workshop and have a creative and relaxing afternoon learning how to make these little guys. All supplies like buttons, trims, sparkles and fabric will be provided. Students can choose between making snowmen and/or penguins in various sizes.

This is one of our most popular Seasonal Art Workshops and for good reason! These pallets are so fun to create and look great once completed.  Utilize seasonal stencils like snowflakes, snow covered trees and seasonal quotes! Take the skills you learn in class to make countless others for decorations or for those on your Holiday Gift List! Custom stencils, an array of paint colors, wood signs and all other supplies will be provided. Winter Floral Wreaths

Take those treasured fabric remnant and turn them into something wonderful! How about a new seasonal wreath to add to your home décor!? Or make as a holiday, birthday or housewarming gift! 

By utilizing a variety of fabrics, fusible fleeces, and templates students will learn different flower and learn to create leaf designs. Using jewelry pliers we'll bend and twist thin metals to create vines that can be left or as is, or bedazzled with beautiful beads and jems on a 14" gold or silver ring to create your wreath.

Painted Fabric Lamp Shades

In this two part course we will create a trendy floral lampshade that is definitely boutique worthy! By using linen fabric and an unexpected “painting” technique you'll watch your creations come to life, with no sewing needed!

All supplies will be provided you will learn a technique for creating the effect of watercolor flowers and we will “paint” our fabric. Then you will learn the method along with tips and tricks on how to cover your lampshades. Think of the possibilities!

Create two unique wine bottles as keepsakes or gifts with glass etching and paint combined! Learn how to select the right bottles, brushes and supplies to create these beautiful pieces of art. Mosaic Workshop, Creative Sewing Studio

Lovely Mosaics

Come relax, learn and create a decorative glass gem tray! It’s the perfect gift or present to yourself! The glass gems used come in a variety colors. You'll also have the opportunity to paint your unfinished wood trays using popular Chalk Paint. Chalk Paint is the perfect paint for recreating new or reclaimed furniture, frames and other home décor items into beautiful pieces for your home! It's a latex based paint with added minerals and chalk. This combination makes for a super easy application and a unique finish!

Decoupage Workshop, Creative Sewing Studio

The Fun World Of Decoupage

Decoupage is a versatile, fun and accessible craft that folks of all ages can enjoy! By using itmes like magazine cut-outs, photographs, paper and fabric you can give furniture a new look, create jewelry, give items a new aesthetic and more! Each layer is sealed with multiple coats until the “stuck on” appearance disappears and the result looks like painting or inlay work.  

Join us for a creative afternoon learning the techniques, supplies, tips and tricks. We'll be applying skills learned to create a lovely, fabric covered vase. All supplies will be provided, including a variety of vases and an assortment of pre-pinked fabrics. With the skills learned you will be able to decorate future items of your choice.

Jewelry Making Classes

SuperDuo Beaded Wrap Bracelets

Ahhh nothing says spring like short sleeve shirts showing off jewelry, especially jewelry designed by you! Join us for this spring's jewelry designing workshop and create your very own SuperDuo wrap bracelet! Beautiful in its visual complexity, it's designed to be wrapped three times around the wrist to make a simple statement when worn alone or stacked with other bracelets. The beads are "Super Duo" Czech glass beads with a tiny Czech glass seed bead between each of the duos. The clasp is an ornate cast button which you will have several options to choose from.

The Art of Buying Wine ~ An Educational Wine Tasting

Many people buy wines based on labels only. Do you? If so this workshop is a must! Come kick back, relax and spend an evening learning the truths and lies on labels while sampling six delicious wines. We’ll discuss how to decode the regulated terms, dive deep into tricks, learn tips on how to find important information to pinpoint what's in your wine and more! These buying tips will help you select wines to not only get the most for your money but to drink healthier. After this event buying wine will never be the same!

Mark C Lenzi CSW,CSS,CWAS,FWS,IWS*,SWS,IWM is the owner of Franklin Liquors, established in 1978 in Franklin, Ma. Lenzi is a Certified Specialist of Wine and Spirits by the Society of Wine Educators and the first in Massachusetts to hold a California Wine Appellation Specialist title from the San Francisco Wine School. Lenzi holds several certificates such as, Oregon Wine Expert by the Napa Valley Wine Academy, Italian Wine Scholar by The Wine Scholar Guild and Italian Wine Specialist (IWS*) by the North American Sommelier Association, to name a few


Beginner Knitting Classes

Beginner Knitting

Have you always wanted to learn how to knit, but haven’t had the time, or the patience, or the skill?
Well now’s your chance! In two afternoons, through hands on learning you’ll learn how to cast on, cast off and how to do the two stitches that are the basis of all knitting—knit and purl. We’ll also talk about choosing the best yarn and needles for your project and the importance of yarn weight and gauge. Students will learn how to combine knitting and purling to make different textures in your knitting while creating a ribbed scarf. 
Leave With: Knitting needles, a few written resources, the knowledge you need to be able to do it on your own, and the start to ribbed scarf to show off your new talent!

Cross-stitch, Creative Sewing Studio

Beginner Cross-Stitch

Cross-stitch is one of the oldest forms of embroidery and can be found around the world. Draped in history it has been passed down through the generations and has found a vast resurgence within the last decade.
Using the highest quality thread and linen, students will learn to count stitches, discuss which needles, threads, linen and fabrics are best for their projects. Once stitched participants will have three color options and an array of buttons to choose from to "finish" their needlework piece into a sweet sunflower pincushion. Come enjoy the experience of seeing your small stitches transformed into an exquisite design.

Beading Classes

Beaded Holiday Bottles

In this workshop students learn a couple different methods of beading as well as become familiar with a basic beading tools. By utilizing a pattern and a mathematical approach students will create a beaded bottle cover to enhance the appearance of a bottle of wine, bottle of champagne or even a candle! Whether it is being given as a hostess gift or sitting on your own table this beaded artwork is sure to impress! Beading can be as simple, funky or as elegant as you wish it to be. Come be creative and have fun! *Please note that this project may be more difficult for those with hand and vision limitations.
