Fabric Rugs

Wed., Jan. 7, 14, 21 & 28 ~ 5:45pm - 7:45pm

Create a 30" x 44" area rug using the jelly roll of your choice. Jelly rolls are cute, round fabric "treats" consisting of 40 - 42 strips of fabric. Each strip measures 2.5" x 42". This rug will be customized to your liking, depending on the colors and prints of fabric you choose. Brighten up your sewing room with rainbow prints, decorate a child's room with whimsical colors, or use coordinating colors to create one to compliment any room in your home. You might even want to use black and orange for a Halloween rug, or warm tones for a fall rug...the possibilities are endless!

Funky Felted Mittens

Sun., Jan. 25th ~ 2:00pm - 5:45pm

We're at it again with our most popular seasonal workshop ~ Funky Felted Mittens. If you want the most warm, creative, personally designed mittens for yourself or family and friends then this workshop is a must! Leave with templates and the skills to make more. All mittens will be stitched on sewing machines and will be pre-felted using the washer and dryer. 

Course Cost: $98. $20 Supply Fee. All supplies provided.  Instructor: Mikala Cash Prerequisite:  Sewing 101  or equivalent experience.


Beginner Embroidery

Wed., Feb. 4, 11 & 18 ~ 5:45pm - 7:45pm

Let this whimsical workshop take you on a creative journey while learning all the basics of hand embroidery. This in depth beginners course will teach you several of the most popular hand embroidery stitches, how to begin and end your pieces, what floss and supplies are needed and which are the best for your projects. Students will also be provided with resources and practice sheets.

Course Cost: $139 + $20 kit fee Instructor: Kerry Snyder  Prerequisite: No prerequisites


Intro To Quilting

Saturday, Feb. 7 & 14 ~ 2:00pm - 4:45pm

Saturday, Oh my goodness we found another way to use jelly rolls and smaller cuts of beautiful fabric!!  This two session course is the perfect introductory quilting course for those who want to learn the basics and sample quilting! You’ll learn all about quilting tools like rotary cutters, self-healing mats, quilting rulers, how to use your quarter inch  & stitch in the ditch  sewing foot! We’ll discuss fabrics, batting, threads and stitching techniques. This course covers a lot of fun and useful information, all while creating a 14 x 14  Log Cabin style pillow sham to take home!

Class Cost: $140   Leave With: A finished project and instructions to make more  Instructor:  Mikala Cash Prerequisite: Sewing 100  or equivalent experience. 

Staycation: Open Studio 

Sun., Feb. 8th ~ 10:30am - 3:00pm

If you can't get away, have no weekend plans or just need some time to yourself then join us and your sewing fam for a day of project "catch-up" time. You're welcome to bring projects you're working on independently or ones from our sewing courses. Guidance will be provided where needed. Also, feel free to join us even if you don't need much help but just want the time to yourself in an organized space, chatting and enjoying everyone's company. Please bring a lunch to eat during our break. Hot Coco, Tea, Coffee & Water Provided. 

Please Note: This is not a personal lesson and therefore students should bring projects that are within their current skill level.  The goal is for the instructor to have equal amounts of time where needed with each student.

Staycation: Sewing Essentials 

Sun., Feb. 22nd ~ 10:30am - 4:30pm

Join us for a full day creating at the studio. Make a Scissor Case, Caddy, Cubes, Apron or Tote for your sewing supplies or other treasures. Please bring a lunch to eat during our break. Hot Coco, Tea, Coffee & Water Provided. 

Course Cost: $155. Supplies needed will be sent 3 weeks before the class.  Instructor: Mikala Cash Prerequisite:  Sewing 101  or equivalent experience.


Staycation: Be Your Own Tailor, Level II

Sunday, March 22nd ~ 10:30am - 4:00pm

This all day tailoring class is perfect for students want to build on skills learned in our Level I Be Your Own Tailor Course and are interested in learning how to do basic clothing repairs and clothing alterations on ready-made garments. Students will learn practical and useful skills to fix and alter clothing which could save money, enable a better fit and allow you to re-purpose clothing items. Please bring a lunch to eat during our break. Hot Coco, Tea, Coffee & Water Provided.

 Doggie Jackets

Show your fur babies how much you love them by coming home with a custom designed doggie jacket just for them! Work with a pattern to create a small, medium or large doggie jacket complete with lining, Velcro and slit to run a leash through!



Holiday Ornaments

We are so excited to be offering this new holiday inspired workshop! Join Kerry for a creative afternoon sipping hot cocoa while creating these adorable holiday ornaments. Learn several hand embroidery stitches, how to start and finish a stitch, about different kinds of felt, needles and floss. Leave with a couple ornaments that can be placed on your tree or gifted to others. 


Doggie Leashes & Collars

Calling all Doggie lovers ….. could anything be better than spending time creating personalized pieces for your pooch!?! In this workshop you'll learn to make your very own durable and professional looking collar and leash. If time allows we'll also discuss how to make bandannas. The possibilities are endless! Just think … of all those holiday inspired or seasonal color sets! For small. medium or large dogs.


Floral Embroidery

Let's stitch the sweetest flowers this summer! Join us Friday evenings in August to learn several hand stitching techniques and create this lovely floral design on your jeans. By utilizing a template you'll create flowers, ferns and foliage on the back pocket of a pair of pants or along the hem.


Sewing Sampler

Join us for a Staycation at the studio creating, laughing, learning and chitchatting for the day. During this offering we'll be making belts, keychains and eyeglass or sunglass cases. Coffee, tea, cocoa and water will be offered throughout the day. Please bring a lunch and we'll all eat outside if it's nice or inside if not.


Portable Iron Mat and Carrier

We're obsessed with this adorable iron carrier and mat! It can be created in two different sizes, is a great place to store your iron and makes it easy to travel with. Adorn with decorative buttons that when unbuttoned the whole carrier opens to a flat mat you can iron on. This offering expands on current skills and will teach things like creating binding, working with heat resistant materials and more!


Embroidered Pouches:

Learn the basics of hand embroidery while creating this very sweet and useful pouch.  This in depth beginners course will teach you several of the most popular hand embroidery stitches, how to begin and end your pieces, what floss and supplies are needed and which are the best for your projects. Students will also be provided with resources and practice sheets. There may be up to 2 hours of homework between classes to ensure completion.


Huge Donut Pillows

Oh My Goodness these donuts are huge and so fun! Work with a variety of fabrics like lightweight upholstery, cottons, flannels and felt to create colorful doughnuts complete with frosting and sprinkles. Working in 3-d provides the opportunity to learn new skills and we'll also expand on our topstitching and hand stitching.


Fabric Bowls & Trivets

What happens when you combine fabric scraps, rope and a zigzag stitch? Well…….beautiful pieces of fiber art of course! Explore working with fabric in a whole new way while creating these delightful bowls and trivets! Students will learn how to use their zig-zag stitch, wrap fabric and tips and tricks on how to begin and finish these pieces. This is a great project to use up some fabric scraps or purchase new and coordinate with the room you plan to display your pieces of art.

Candy Bags

Upcycle all those big candy bags you've stockpiled in preparation for Halloween. Create super fun clutches in various sizes, complete with zipper and lining.  Not only are these durable but they're unique and may just provide you with the you perfect excuse to buy just one more bag of candy! :)



Fabric Pumpkins 

Decorate your home, office or RV with adorable handmade pumpkins in fabric of your choosing! Learn two different ways to create the pumpkins without even having to use a sewing machine! Three sizes will be available and what you learn in class will enable you to make more on your own! 


 

Short Brim Hats

Don't you just love the thought of making your own hat!!  These short brim hats are such a great accessory  and can be made from fabrics like; denim, corduroy, tweed, medium weight cottons and more! The holidays will be here soon~  stitch on up for yourself or as gifts this holiday season. 


Tuffet Whimsy

Oh My Cuteness! We think everyone should have a Tuffet in their Sewing/Craft Room, Porch, Babies Room or Living Room. Rumor has it the fur babies love them too! During this fun course you'll learn a wide variety of techniques and skills like; how to use a quarter inch seam guide, sew fabric to create a circle, cover buttons and more! You'll also be playing be playing with some fun hardware, drills screws and staple guns!


Custom Koozies 

Join us for a fun evening creating custom koozies ~ perfect for keeping your warm beverages warm and hands dry from your cool beverages. These make adorable gifts to use for the beer, soda, coffee and tea drinkers in your life. Work with Insul Bright, Velcro, elastic and more!
