Clothing Classes

Do you want to learn to sew your own clothing and create really cool, well fitted pieces? Well you can in our Clothing Classes  Whether you’re interested in fashion design, clothing construction, clothing design, sewing your own clothing, fashion or basic apparel, these clothing classes will provide you with a solid foundation in technique and assist with helping you develop your own aesthetic.By utilizing sewing machines, hand sewing and supplied patterns students will create a well-fitted garment with their own personal touch and style. With any array of clothing classes offered students have the opportunity to gain experience with a variety of fabrics like sheer, stretch and knits.

Over the course of a year we offer a variety of clothing courses that build on the skills learned in our  Sewing 100  & Sewing Patterns 101  courses. These or equivalent experience are the prerequisite for the Apparel CoursesThere could be up to three hours of out of class work between classes. If 'at home work' is not completed we can not guarantee you will finish your project.


All Courses Will Cover: 

    • How to read a store bought clothing pattern
    • How to select a store bought pattern for your size
    • Learn how to then fit the pattern to your size and make adjustments
    • Terminology used in clothing patterns
    • Gain experience working with three dimensional project
    • Discuss weight loss and gain wardrobe adjustment 
    • Finishing techniques like; hemming, surged edges, facing, top stitching and more 

All Classes Will Leave With:  *A sewing pattern  *Finished project  *List of sewing terminology  *List of over 30 local fabric stores *Information and visuals regarding different needles and when to use them *General information on basic sewing supplies.


Fall Shirts

Sunday, Oct. 15, 22, 29, Nov. 5 & 12 ~ 10:30 - 12:30pm

In our Fall Shirts  course students will have several shirts to choose from to create long or short sleeve shirts, fitted or loose with various necklines and lengths. This is a great opportunity to work with chunky or smooth knits and various other soft, warm materials while learning how to use the appropriate needles and techniques for the fabric you choose.

Course Cost: $160 + $13 fee brought to the first class in the form of cash or check is applied toward pattern and supplies. It does not cover the cost of fabric or notions. In our first class we will discuss what fabric and notions you will need to bring to your second class. Bring your own sewing machine or borrow one from the studio for a onetime $10 fee.

Winter Sweaters

Thursday, Nov. 30, Dec. 7, 14, 21 & 28 ~ 6pm - 8pm

In our Winter Sweaters Course students will have a total of six styles to choose from to create long sleeve or wrap sweaters, fitted or loose with various necklines and lengths. This is a great opportunity to work with chunky or smooth knits and various other soft, warm materials while learning how to use the appropriate needles and techniques for the fabric you choose.

Course Cost: $160 + $13 fee brought to the first class in the form of cash or check is applied toward pattern and supplies. It does not cover the cost of fabric or notions. Pajama Bottoms

Saturday, Nov. 18, Dec. 2 & 9 ~ 10:30am - 12:30pm

In our Pajama Pants Course  students will learn to make either long or short pajama bottoms! learn to create pant casing to run draw string or elastic through. Learn how to sew with an array of fabrics from laundered cottons to fleece to knits. Learn finishing details and how to work with notions like elastic and bias tape. 

Course Cost: $95 + $13 fee brought to the first class in the form of cash or check is applied toward pattern and supplies. It does not cover the cost of fabric or notions. In our first class we will discuss what fabric and notions you will need to bring to your second class. Bring your own sewing machine or borrow one from the studio for a onetime $10 fee.

Maxi Dresses & Maxi Skirts

Our Maxi Dress and Maxi Skirt course is perfect for those who want to learn to work with clothing patterns and leave with a great piece! Participants can choose from six different dress and skirt patterns with various necklines and lengths. This is a great opportunity to work with knits and various other stretch materials while learning how to use the appropriate needles and techniques for the fabric you choose.

Course Cost: $155 + $13 fee brought to the first class in the form of cash or check is applied toward pattern and supplies. It does not cover the cost of fabric or notions. In our first class we will discuss what fabric and notions you will need to bring to your second class. Bring your own sewing machine or borrow one from the studio for a onetime $10 fee.

Summer Shirts

In our Summer Shirts  course students will have several patterns to choose from to create a long or short sleeve shirt, fitted or loose with various necklines and lengths. This is a great opportunity to work with knits and various other stretch materials while learning how to use the appropriate needles and techniques for the fabric you choose.

Course Cost: $155 + $13 fee brought to the first class in the form of cash or check is applied toward pattern and supplies. It does not cover the cost of fabric or notions. In our first class we will discuss what fabric and notions you will need to bring to your second class. Bring your own sewing machine or borrow one from the studio for a onetime $10 fee.

In our Fall Skirts  course students will work from one pattern to create either a long, mid-length or short skirt. In addition to all the points above students will also learn how to install an invisible zipper for their skirt. This is a great opportunity to work with medium weight wovens, wools and tweeds.
