Kids Sewing 102
Whether your child recently completed our Kids Sewing 101 Course or is coming in with previous sewing experience this dynamic course is great for children ages 8 - 13.5 who want to take their sewing experience to the next level! Each session offers new and different projects so feel free to take it again and again to meet new people, work with other projects and expand upon skills. Our Kids 102 Courses are for our more advanced students. Please email the studio to see if your child is ready for these courses.
Prerequisite: Kids Sewing 101 or equivalent experience. Before enrolling for the 102 Courses children should speak with the studio to make sure children are ready for these classes.
Thursday, July 8, 15, 22, 29 & 5 ~ 3:30pm - 5:00pm
Children will work with templates in this course to create their very own Beach Bags! They'll learn to work with stabilizers, medium weight fabrics, how to create and turn straps, create internal pockets and magnetic snap closures! If time allows they will go onto create a smaller matching clutch to go with their bag.
Cost: $115. A small list a materials needed will be sent a week before classes begins.

This course is sew fashionable! During this fun course children will learn to make belts, headbands and change purses. Apply skills used in previous classes and learn new techniques like how to work with D-rings on belts, elastic in headbands and Velcro in their clutches.
Cost: $120 + $15 material fee.
Fabric Zig Zag and Matching Plushies
Combine dozens of your fabric colors, cut into 5 x 5 squares and attach in a zigzag pattern to create a decorative cover for your bed, chair or make as wall art! We'll use quilters cotton for our squares and a soft, cozy fleece for our backing. Children will learn basic quilting techniques in this course, including piecing and topstitching. In addition we'll make a sweet little plushie in matching fabric.
Cost: $115 + $20 material fee
Sew Room Essentials
If your child is a sewist, artist or crafter they will love our new Sew Essentials Sewing Room course! This patterns course will provide children with a better understanding of working with patterns while creating creating adorable organizational items for their creative room! Students will create a sewing machine cover complete with pockets for storage and can choose one of several other storage related projects for their second project like; scrap bag, pin cushion, fabric weight, scissors case, needle case or wall caddy!
Spring Plushies, Bunnies & Chicks
This spring time class is sure to delight! Children will create adorable bunnies from soft fabrics like laundered cottons, felt or fleece. They'll learn how to create darts, work with interfacing and tuck fabric to give their bunny a three-dimensional look. If time allows we will create soft Chick pin cushions, a fun way to hold their pins!
Huge Donte Pillow & Minnie Cupcakes
This donut pillow is way to awesome to resist! Children will learn to sew curves and right side out their three dimensional project. We'll be working with soft utility fabrics, felts, stuffing, straight and zig zag stitches to create these hug donut pillow and a mini cupcake if time allows.
Applique Owl Blankets:
Who doesn't want their very own Owl Blanket!?! Children will learn how to applique in this course as well as work with an array of fabrics, stabilizers and needles. And of course they'll leave with a nice, warm blanket with appliqued owls.
Seasonal Apron, Oven Mitts & Pillows
Get into the holiday spirit while creating your very own seasonal apron, oven mitt and holiday pillow! Children will learn how to create these items while expanding on their current skills. They learn how to turn straps, add pockets to their aprons and work with padding for their oven mitts.
Cat Hats, Mittens, Cowls & Head Warmers:
Applique Felted Messenger Bag:
These beautiful messenger bags are created using a combination of machine and hand-stitching. Children will learn delightful decorative stitches like Colonial knots, blanket stitches, whip stitches and over stitches to create the floral pattern on the front flap. In addition they will experience working with felt, interfacing and how to create internal pockets in their bags.
What better time, than now to create comfy cozy pajama bottoms!? Children will work with clothing patterns to learn sizing, fit and layout to create their very own well fitted pajama pant. They'll also learn how to work with flannel, fleece or laundered cotton as well as what kinds of needles to use for their fabric and how to add an elastic waistband.
Skirts and Dresses
Our children's Skirts and Dresses Courses are for the more advanced sewists who are interested in creating basic clothing pieces. Children will work with clothing patterns to learn sizing, fit and layout to create their very own skirt or dress. There will be several length options available and they will learn what kinds of needles to use for their fabric and how to adjust a pattern to fit their size.
